This simple design automatically sets the hot liquor flow rate and liquid level in your mash / lauter tun. As you change the sparge rate into your boil kettle, the AutoSparge™ automatically responds by increasing or decreasing the hot liquor flow to compensate and keeps a constant level in the tun. Just set it up and leave it to perform your most efficient sparge ever.
The incoming sparge liquor gently rotates on top of the grain bed to reduce channeling, oxygen pick-up, and to increase extraction efficiency without the need of a sparge arm.
The float ball and rod are stainless steel, the valve body is low-lead surface treated brass and the kit includes an 18" silicone hose with foam hose float.
Requires a 13/16" mounting hole to mount the valve body. -

Electrim Mashing Bin & Boiler

This electric mashing bin &boiler is fitted with a thermostatic control that makes it ideal for stepped temperature mashing & subsequent boiling.
The element is rated at 2KW and it will bring 5 gallons of cold water to the boil in about 1hr 20 minutes or approximately 30 minutes from mashing temperature.
It will act act as mash tun & a boiler & comes with a stat & tap.
We recommend purchasing a Mashing & Sparging bag as well to prevent the grain from accumulating around element during the mashing process.
After mashing run the liquor off via the tap & sparge to rinse the grains of those fermentable sugars.
Thereafter we recommend fitting a hop strainer, re-introduce the liquor to the boiler & add hops as required for boiling.
In addition Irish Moss may be added to the boil for clarity.
After the boil run the hot liquor off into another vessel & cool it as quickly as possible & for this we recommend the Wort Chiller.
Once the temperature has been reduced to the correct level, add the yeast of your choice & let the fermentation begin - the beer is on it's way! -

False Bottom - Stainless Steel - 12"

A 12" diameter False Bottom made from high quality perforated, domed stainless steel which can used to convert a bucket into a lauter tun for sparging.
The height of the dome is 3/4″. There is a 5/16″ diameter 90° stainless steel elbow with a barbed hose fitting in the center to draw the wort from beneath the dome.
To use this, place it in the bottom of a container such as a flat bottomed bucket. The inside diameter at the base of the container needs to be larger than the 12" diameter of the false bottom but it does not matter if it is a bit bigger.
A pipe then needs to be connected from the barbed steel elbow and out through the side of the vessel, ensuring a leak proof fit, to allow the separated wort to be drawn from under the dome and out to the receiving boiler.
If this outlet pipe is fitted with a tap the liquid level in the lauter tun can be controlled to prevent the mash from drying so ensuring that an efficient sparge is achieved.
Samples of the runnings can be collected and their gravity checked to ensure that the maximum extract is achieved whilst preventing oversparging. -
