The hydrometer is a simple device that is floated in the wine, beer, cider or liqueur.
The level at which the hydrometer floats gives a measure of the sugar level in the liquid.
Very useful in accurately facilitating the calculation of the abv% of your beverages.

The Thief allows you to draw a sample and take a hydrometer reading at the same time. It is made from a clear, easy to clean acrylic and has a overall length of 51cm.
ItÂ’s diameter of 25mm allows it to be used to take samples from 5 gallon fermenters and 1 gallon PET demijohns & will fit through the neck of some 1 gallon glass demijohns, though not all.
Place your standard hydrometer directly inside.
Simply dip once for a quick sample.
Give a twist to dislodge any bubbles.
Take the hydrometer reading.
Touch the tip against the container side to empty the thief.
As a result you will not need a trail jar. -
