Hedgerow Wine Starter Kit - 1 gallon - with a single 1 gallon Plastic Demijohn
£30.00
Make your own wine using your own hand picked ingredients - it can't get much better than this!
The great little equipment & initial adjuncts will enable you to ferment your own flower & fruit wines with very little commitment other than the time required to gather the ingredients - the stuff of memories!
This starter kit contains the equipment, the usage instructions and all the ingredients (except the water, sugar and the fruit of course) to make a gallon (4.5 litres) of flower/fruit wine.
The kit itself consists of:
1. a 10 litre food grade fermentation bin with lid.
2. a telescopic syphon.
3. a straining funnel.
4. a one gallon plastic demijohn with a lid & grommet.
5. an airlock.
6. a 10" glass thermometer.
7. and the Hedgerow kit itself.
The Hedgerow Kit contains all the ingredients/adjuncts namely, the Pectic Enzyme, the Wine Yeast, the Nutrient, the Stabiliser, the Finings, the Acid and Wine Maturing Solution needed to go with your fruit, sugar and water to produce the wine.
The enclosed instructions explain clearly how to make your wine from Apples, Blackcurrants, Blackberries, Cherries (black or red), Crab Apples, Damsons, Elderberries, Gooseberries, Greengages, Loganberries, Pears, Plums, Raisins, Raspberries, Redcurrants, Rosehips, Rowanberries or Strawberries.
Good wine can also be made from many other fruits not listed here, including grapes (recipe on the Web-site), and the Hedgerow kit can be adapted to make these as well!
The amount of fruit required varies between 1 and 2 kg depending on the type of fruit used.
A second one gallon fermenter is useful with this kit but is certainly not essential.
An option to purchase the same kit but with the addition of a very useful second one gallon Fermenter with grommet (a second airlock will not be needed) is displayed separately.
A very useful gift as is 'The First Steps in Winemaking' book by the legend CJJ Berry - found under the Wine Literature Section of our Site.
