Hambleton Bard Hand Corker

Before being inserted in the bottle the corks will need to be softened and sterilised by soaking them overnight in a Campden solution.
To use, separate the plunger from the main body and place the softened cork inside.
Make sure that the bottle is standing on a sold foundation, place the corker vertically on top of the bottle and firmly depress the plunger to drive the cork into the bottle.
This is not as easy to use as the other corkers we show but it is a lot cheaper!

These natural wine bottle corks are of the
standard size, 38mm by 22mm mm, used by home
winemakers. They have been washed in a
hydrogen peroxide solution that disinfects
and cleans deep into the cork. These have
neither been filled nor have they been
wax-treated and it is anticipated that these
will be soaked before use. Do this by
submerging them in hot water (6070C)
for 15 minutes.
For best results we
recommend that these be inserted using a good
quality corker such as the Easy, Gilda or a
Floor Standing model. -

They can easily be placed over the bottleneck, and then shrunk to a neat finish using the steam from a gently boiling kettle or hair dryer.
