This simple and strong airlock is the only one we use ourselves.
It is half filled with a liquid to form a barrier for the brew against the exterior yet allow passage for released CO2.
May be filled with water or a weak solution of Sodium or Potassium Metabisulphite or a high alcohol drink such as Vodka.

Being a thin-walled 5 Litre square plastic demijohn with ribbing this fermenter is very light in weight. It comes with a carrying handle, screw cap and a grommet to take an airlock.
Do note that whilst you will need an airlock if you want to use this for fermenation, because it comes complete with a cap fitted with a grommet to take the airlock, you will not need either a bored cork or bung as you would with glass demijohns.
