Electrim Mashing Bin & Boiler
£75.50
This electric mashing bin &boiler is fitted with a thermostatic control that makes it ideal for stepped temperature mashing & subsequent boiling.
The element is rated at 2KW and it will bring 5 gallons of cold water to the boil in about 1hr 20 minutes or approximately 30 minutes from mashing temperature.
It will act act as mash tun & a boiler & comes with a stat & tap.
We recommend purchasing a Mashing & Sparging bag as well to prevent the grain from accumulating around element during the mashing process.
After mashing run the liquor off via the tap & sparge to rinse the grains of those fermentable sugars.
Thereafter we recommend fitting a hop strainer, re-introduce the liquor to the boiler & add hops as required for boiling.
In addition Irish Moss may be added to the boil for clarity.
After the boil run the hot liquor off into another vessel & cool it as quickly as possible & for this we recommend the Wort Chiller.
Once the temperature has been reduced to the correct level, add the yeast of your choice & let the fermentation begin - the beer is on it's way!

Immersion Wort Chiller
£55.00More detail and information
When you have successfully achieved the hot break the wort clears as proteins coagulate, fall out of solution and become visible as trub.
If the wort is allowed to cool slowly these proteins go back into solution and the wort will go cloudy.
If however it is chilled quickly a further large quantity of trub is formed and the wort will remain clear.
This is called the cold break.
Using this chiller a good cold break can be achieved, the time taken to complete the brewing process is reduced, and the yeast can be pitched in earlier to shorten the dangerous lag period before fermentation starts.
The Immersion Wort Cooler comes with both inlet and outlet tubing for the water.
These are quality clear braided thick walled polythene, each 1.25m long with an ID of 10mm and an OD of 16mm.
These will push fit onto the inlet and outlet of the copper tubing (you may want to secure them with jubilee type clips (not supplied)) and the water outlet runs free.
The water inlet end will need to be secured to a tap with a suitable connector depending on the tap used to supply it. -
